Camfil’s history began in 1963 with a mission to protect people in Sweden from bad air and today they are the world’s leading manufacturer of clean air solutions for air filtration and dust separation. Camfil currently has 33 manufacturing offices, 6 research centres and a total of 4,800 employees globally. Since 2015 Camfil has had BaseDrum as its global intranet.

Shared knowledge and engaging communication

Helena Hellqvist, SharePoint and Collaboration Manager at Camfil, has been technically responsible for the intranet since 2017 and experiences many advantages with BaseDrum. In the intranet they store all the documents and manuals that describe their organization: “Our intranet is the backbone where we have gathered all the controlled documents. Our employees can find everything from information on employment to manuals in IT and guidelines for marketing.”

Both management and employees communicate effectively via the intranet and BaseDrum is an obvious part of Camfil’s digital workplace: “We want our intranet to be a permissive place where everyone has a chance to have their say. With BaseDrum it’s possible!”

Assign permissions to content

With its intranet in SharePoint Camfil can control who has permission to see what content. By setting unique rights on different sites you can choose to allow external visitors to take part in selected content: “When it’s time for an audit, we can let the auditor into our intranet and give access to specific content. Only what is relevant is visible, very smooth!”

Reach more people with digital information screens

Going forward Helena and Camfil look forward to starting using BaseDrum’s integrated solution for digital information screens. They want to reach out with news and important information to even more people than before and thereby inform and engage all employees within the organization: “We are looking forward to being able to use digital information screens so that employees in production can be reached by the same information at the same time as the employees in the office.”
