Release notes | 01.10.26

➕ NEW FEATURES

  • Body map and face map
Mark locations directly on a body or face map on a case. Annotations are backed by taxonomy so they can be reported on, and paired annotations are supported.
  • Heatmaps
New heatmap fields backed by hierarchical term sets, with heatmap levels, creation and editing, and a hover preview.
  • Image annotation with click zones
Annotate images such as floor plans with named, clickable zones, including required-zone display names and floor selection.
  • Map overview web part
A dedicated overview web part that opens a case-list modal for a map or floor.
  • Permission groups in administration
Administrators can preview and create permission groups from a term set, with editable roles (Administrators, Create and Read).
  • Per-instance term groups and term sets
Taxonomy fields can point at any term set, and instances can use their own term groups and default term sets.
  • Per-instance display language
A specific interface language can now be forced per instance.
  • Append-only multiline text fields
Multiline text fields can be set to append-only so previous entries are preserved as a history.
  • Per-step read-only fields
Fields can be made read-only for specific steps in a flow.
  • Smarter logic to form questions
Fields can be handled by the logic “is equivalent to”, “is not equivalent to”, “Contains”, “Start with” and “Ends with”
  • Editable dropdowns in the panel
Choice, multi-choice and boolean fields can be edited as dropdowns directly in the edit panel, with guardrails in administration.
  • Smarter form visibility
Field visibility now supports relational “visible if” operators, phase-scoped information callouts on the form.
  • Logic to buttons
Logic to buttons can now be adjusted by administrators. When certain buttons should be displayed and what permissions that follow the button.
  • Cases list remembers your view
The Cases list keeps your filters, search and sort as you move between cases, and shows the matching result count when a filter is active.
  • History in My Improve
My Improve can surface historical cases where you were a previous active owner.
  • Attachment context menu with download
Attachments now have a context menu, including a direct download option.
  • Smarter case emails
Work-item and My Cases emails link straight to the item’s panel, and the My Cases link address can be configured from the web part.
  • Dashboard
A new dashboard gives an overview of cases, with global filters, a filter picker, an attention pager for cases needing action, and period presets with drill-down charts by status and category.
  • Title (HTML) field
A new field type lets administrators add styled HTML headings and text directly on the form.
  • Manage site permissions
Administrators can now manage a site’s SharePoint permissions directly from the instance context menu, without leaving InSight Improve.
  • Work items in My Improve
A new setting controls whether work items are shown in My Improve.

⬆ IMPROVEMENTS

  • Redesigned administration
Flow and step administration was reworked with card-based editors: a button editor, a visibility card with per-row conditions, combined phase and status pickers, email and field-value editors, panel on/off toggles, draggable panel-field chips and segmented multilingual input.
  • Faster My Improve
Case and work-item loading is noticeably faster, with progressive rendering, fewer round-trips on a cold load and a persisted query cache.
  • Faster forms and refreshed layout
Form load times were optimised and the case form was rebalanced with a refreshed summary card, restored phase header and improved spacing.
  • Safer send buttons
Buttons that send a case forward stay disabled until the whole form is valid, even while a panel is open.
  • Better provisioning and diagnostics
New-instance provisioning supports Sites.Create.All and external or guest Azure AD users, with clearer permission error messages.
  • Rounded confirmation dialog
The dialog for closing a form without saving now uses the same rounded style as the rest of the app.
  • Clearer save and print feedback
Form header buttons stay visible, though disabled, while a case is saving, and the Print button shows a spinner while a case is printing.
  • Full-width layout padding
Content in full-width web part sections is now padded correctly instead of running edge-to-edge.
  • Unread message badge on chat
The case Chat button now shows a badge with the number of unread messages. The thread marks a “New messages” divider and opens scrolled to the first unread message, and read state syncs across your open tabs.

⚒ FIXED

  • Adding a new case type no longer overwrites the existing case types.
  • External and guest Azure AD users without a UPN claim are now supported.
  • Work-item emails now link by task title, and your work items are matched on your email regardless of casing.
  • Follower lookups now finish before a case is saved.
  • Map fields now follow their display and hover settings, and drag-drawing and term-set mapping were corrected.
  • Maps are now zoomable on mobile and the modal no longer overflows.
  • Body map and face map images now load correctly in the deviations web part.
  • The multi people field and several taxonomy issues were fixed.
  • The My Cases link now uses a stable default site name, with a manual override available in the web part property pane.
  • Dashboard filters now cascade correctly between dropdowns.
  • Dashboard gauges show “no result” instead of an error when there is no data for the selected period.
  • A stray screen-reader data table under dashboard charts is no longer shown.
  • My Improve no longer resets your pill-tab selection when you use the “toggle all” button.
  • New-instance provisioning now rejects ambiguous site name conflicts instead of guessing which site to use.
  • Numerous further stability, layout and polish fixes across the form, panel and administration.
